Creating Libraries and Footprints (GTB 5.0)

Libraries are a difficult thing in any PCB package, but we have heard that KiCad is particularly difficult for beginners. We show some of the updated library elements in KiCad 5.0 (it has gotten better!) and some of the quirks. This lesson is about managing the footprints and libraries, which is a key part of any designers toolset. You will carry your footprints between different projects and it makes sense to spend time figuring out how to quickly make a footprint and save it in the proper place.
